Willing

Time to keep y'all up to date on Slider.

He is awesome.

OK ok I will share more details. We have had all sorts of mini adventures. We played with free jumping and he did pretty great!  There are pictures and video, but I don't have them sorted yet. He also got his feet done with his first set of eventer plates, no more race plates for him! The farrier also thought he had great feet, his heels are just slightly under run, but that will be solved with the next shoeing cycle. He now stands at the mounting block and in the cross ties.

I rode him yesterday and he was pleasant as always. Our steering is mostly confirmed which is a plus.  He picks up the correct lead every time and is so very soft on the reins as well as having great self carriage. I don't feel the need to micro manage his every move. I am going to play with bits as he is definitely resistant to the single joint d bit that he currently goes in.

we are playing with lots of baby jumps, or obstacles considering he doesn't jump them.  He is very willing and totally gets the concept of going quietly over things that I steer him to.  That makes me so excited. Here are a couple humorous pictures of him "jumping."

today I gave him a bath as he has terrible dandruff and he promptly rolled in the dirt, so no shiny shiny pony pictures.

I even have video of our ride. I would say it is boring, but I could seriously watch his gaits all day.
